FUSHAN AND THE HEARTWARMING JOURNEY TO ASSIST PEOPLE IN NEED IN THE CENTRAL VIETNAM TO RECOVER AFTER THE HISTORIC DELUGE

After summarizing the charity program "For Our Beloved Central Vietnam", on Saturday, December 5th, 2020, on behalf of all Fushaners, the delegation of the company’s BOD and the Trade Union had a trip to Ba Long commune, Dakrong district, Quang Tri province to present meaningful and supportive gifts to assist people here to soon recover and stabilize their lives after the historic deluge.

Visiting Ba Long commune in the early days of December - the time when the floodwaters have already receded, but the heavy damage left by the historic storms are still much evident here.

As a valley located upstream of Thach Han River, Ba Long is like a basin of Dakrong district. Due to the impact of constant tropical storms from October 6th to October 17th and typhoon No. 9 from October 28th – 30th which caused heavy rain and flooding in the area, Ba Long was devastatingly deluged. Mr. Loc - Vice Chairman of Ba Long Communal People's Committee informed us that Ba Long had a total number of 898 households and there were 364 households flooded during those previous storms.

Talking to people in Ba Long commune, we have known that the whole commune was inundated within 15-17 days, many places deluged as deep as 4-5 meters. Moreover, the high flood caused many difficulties for the people here. They were isolated in the area and it was very hard for the rescue and support teams to approach and present timely support to them.

Along the way to Ba Long, it was not difficult for us to encounter stretches of sand or bare alluvial grounds with withered and barren trees. Many furniture, vegetables, plants, and animals of the local people were swept away by the flood, and until now, these damages have not been estimated.

With the support from officials in Ba Long commune, Dakrong polices, and officials of Dakrong boarding school for ethnic minorities, our delegation successfully presented gifts to 89 families with difficult circumstances, and directly visited and gave gifts to 15 households with extremely difficult circumstances and were severely damaged after the storms. Moreover, our delegation also visited and presented gifts to support 25 students with difficult circumstances at Dakrong boarding school for ethnic minorities to assist them in continuing to pursue their studies.

Seeing the excited and emotional faces of everyone when receiving the supporting gifts, our delegation felt warm and happy when having a chance to present the generosity and compassion of all Fushan family members to the people who are in desperate need.

We hope that in the coming time, your goodwill and heartwarming deed will continue to be promoted and spread widely, not only in our company but also in the whole society.
